Eines Tages (in den 60er-Jahren) kam der Eigner nicht mehr wieder und so begann für das Boot der einsame Daueraufenthalt im Ebsenpriel. Jahrelang wartete Familie Ebsen vergeblich auf den Eigner, der auch durch Nachforschungen nicht wieder auffindbar war. Dann konnten sie einige noch verwertbare Sachen aus dem Inneren des Bootes bergen, unter anderem einige wunderschöne Delfter Kacheln, die noch heute von Frau Ebsen in Ehren gehalten werden.<br /> &lt;br/&gt;Das Boot verfiel von Jahr zu Jahr immer mehr, wurde aber gerade dadurch zu einem lohnenswerten Anblick für die Brunsbütteler und auch für Touristen.
